The DCM1500 can measure up to 1500A AC, 1000A DC, 1000V DC and 750V AC voltage, which measures AC and DC current up to 600A, AC and DC voltage up to 600V, resistance up to 400 Ω and frequency up to 400 Hz.

The large, clear characters of the digital display are complemented by a high-resolution digital bar graph, which is very useful for showing trends and evaluating changes in measurements. The display backlight makes it easier to use the device in poor lighting conditions, such as in switch cabinets or in the corners of switch rooms. The save-and-hold feature allows the instrument to be used in places with difficult access to cables, where readings would otherwise not be visible. The maximum/minimum hold function provides the ability to store maximum and minimum DC or RMS values ​​over a specified period of time. The peak hold function allows you to store the maximum and minimum peak value of an AC signal with a sampling time of 10 milliseconds. The auto-off feature automatically puts the instrument into power-saving mode after 30 minutes of power-on, but it can be overridden if required to determine the min/max values.

By using the relative measurement mode (REL), a stable constant value can be kept. The instrument then zeros at that point, and then any change from that value is displayed as a direct measurement relative to it. The safety level complies with IEC 61010-1 CAT IV 600 V and is protected from damage when dropped from a height of 1.2 m onto a hard surface.
