Earth leakage current clamp DCM300E

Current clamp DCM300E - designed primarily for monitoring earth leakage current. However, the upper range is capable of measuring currents up to 300 A (ac), making this versatile instrument suitable for most current measurement applications. The device has four measurement ranges: 30 mA, 300 mA, 30 A and 300 A with a minimum resolution of 0.01 mA on the 30 mA range.

To conserve battery life, this meter has an auto-power-off feature that allows you to turn off the meter if no reading is taken for 10 minutes. This clamp meter is a completely new development in this class of instruments, ensuring full compliance with the latest EN61010-2-32 safety standards and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. Operational safety has been enhanced by including a tactile barrier in the design of the device. Additional insulation has been specially applied around the grip to reduce the possibility of a short circuit between live conductors, as well as to protect the operator from accidental electric shock.

A typical application of these current clamps is to measure, as with an RCD tester, the earth leakage current in circuits where an RCD (residual current device) provides a trip. The measurement result allows you to quickly determine - either there is an excessive leakage current to the ground, causing the RCD to trip, or the RCD itself is faulty. DC earth leakage current can be the result of various insulation defects that cannot be determined, such as deterioration of cable insulation, damage to cables, or moisture ingress into areas where unprotected terminals or fittings are located. The device has "pocket" dimensions, light weight, simple and reliable operation, and therefore is an ideal choice for the electrical industry.
