Power transformers are the most critical components of transmission and distribution networks today. Transformer failures result in huge costs for unscheduled maintenance due to unexpected failures. It is important to avoid these errors and make their testing and diagnosis reliable and efficient.
The FRAX 101 Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA) system detects potential mechanical and electrical defects that cannot be detected by other means. Large enterprises and service organizations have been using the FRA method for more than a decade. Measurement is easy to perform by obtaining a unique "fingerprint" of the transformer. The measurement compared to the reference "fingerprint", gives an accurate answer whether there is a mechanical change in the transformer or not. Deviations indicate geometric and/or electrical changes when testing a current transformer.
The FRAX 101 system detects the following: • Deformation and displacement of the windings • Coil shorts and breaks • Loose fittings • Damage to fasteners • Core problems • Partial destruction of windings • Incorrect core grounding • Core displacement
