Megger's portable automatic testers perform dielectric strength tests on mineral, silicone and synthetic ester oils. Cast test cells provide a high level of repeatability in field and laboratory conditions by accurately setting the gap between the electrodes using adjusting dials. The transparent, shielded lid is one of the main elements that allows users to see everything that happens in the test chamber. Power supply of devices is carried out from the alternating current network.
Standard test procedures are pre-loaded on the instrument, and new versions can be downloaded via the USB interface. All installations support user-defined tests. Test results are identified either by a serial number or object identification number, with date and time. An optional built-in printer provides hard copies of results. Ink-based printouts guarantee durability at virtually all temperatures. The USB interfaces (3) provide communication with a PC, a USB flash drive, an external USB printer and a barcode scanner.
User safety is paramount, so Megger has created an independent high voltage redundant circuit to ensure safety. During the test, the operator can terminate the test by pressing any button on the keypad, which will immediately remove the high voltage and terminate the test. The transparent cover provides sufficient visibility of what is happening in the test chamber, and in addition, protection and electrical shielding by means of a shield with multiple instrument ground connections.
