Peculiarities
• The Megger KF875 and KF-UNI are exceptionally portable and designed specifically for outdoor use - both models feature a stock printer, removable test fluid container and a rugged hard case. The choice of power source makes the models even more portable - both models can be powered from the mains, a built-in rechargeable battery or via a 12V car adapter. • All models are equipped with the ACE control system, which eliminates possible measurement errors - due to changes in electrolyte resistance, some coulometric Karl Fischer testers may have measurement errors, requiring frequent verification of titration performance by analyzing known water levels. Megger KF875, KF-UNI and KF-LAB eliminate this need by using the patented ACE (Automatic Error Compensation) system. This system ensures that the generated electrolysis current and the displayed count rate are always correctly synchronized, regardless of changes in electrolyte resistance, thus eliminating the need to calibrate the reagent. All this serves to increase the usability of the device. • Each model uses the coulometric Karl Fischer titration process, an industry standard method for determining admixture in liquids (ASTM D1533, BS EN 60814:1998, IEC 60814:1997) • Megger KF875 and KF-UNI have built-in rechargeable batteries – this allows for accurate on-site measurements of fresh oil samples, avoiding degradation of the oil sample. • Megger KF875 and KF-UNI can be powered by built-in rechargeable batteries or by mains power – this allows “field” and laboratory tests to be performed using the same equipment, ensuring standardized results.
Description

Nearly 20 years of research has led to Megger's KF875, KF-UNI and KF-LAB coulometric Karl Fischer tetrators, designed to detect impurities in oil while maintaining high measurement accuracy in the field. With a built-in printer and hard carrying case, the Megger KF875 and KF-UNI are exceptionally portable, easy to use and highly accurate. The Megger KF-LAB is designed specifically for laboratory use, is powered exclusively by the mains, has no built-in battery and comes without a carrying case.

Designed specifically for testing insulating oil with a specific gravity of 0.875, the KF875 requires the operator to simply press one button and place a 1ml oil sample into the test chamber. Simple one-touch operation makes the KF875 an easy-to-use tester that does not require expert knowledge or special training to use effectively. The test results are displayed on the display and on paper, using the built-in printer, both in micrograms of water and in milligrams per kilogram (parts per million).

Megger KF-UNI allows you to titrate samples with specific gravity from 0.60 to 1.40, and also allows you to change the volume of the test sample. As unnecessary, the printer can be turned off; results are calculated in ppm, µg/kg, % and micrograms. For greater versatility, results can be calculated in relation to the weight of the test sample or the volume and relative density of the sample.
